Lend a Hand 2020 Database Proposal
We decided to base our project around Lend a Hand 2020, a national volunteer organization that provides grocery delivery services to seniors, people with preexisting conditions, and other vulnerable​ people at risk of contracting COVID-19. Our goal was to create a database to optimize the logistics of coordinating deliveries between volunteers and recipients. The database we made creates business value for the organization by streamlining the volunteer and recipient registration, matchmaking, scheduling, and feedback processes.

The database was built using Salesforce. It records contact information of recipients, delivery volunteers and operations volunteers. It seamlessly connects this information to requests for social phone calls and grocery deliveries. Furthermore, the database can assist with pairing volunteers and recipients based on geographic location and availability. It also helps collect recipient feedback, which can be used by administrators to further improve the program.
